Tomo Aizawa, a tomboy girl, confesses her love to her childhood friend Kubota Junichirou. However, he mistakes her confession as a casual assurance of friendship between boys, disgruntling her. Later on, Tomo asks her best friend Misuzu Gundo for advice. However, Misuzu says she has rightly portrayed herself as a boy because of her lack of femininity. Tomo then tries to change the way she talks with Kubota, but they instead fight, making amends later on. Sometime later, both Kubota and Misuzu forget their umbrellas, and wait for Tomo to walk them home. Kubota angrily pushes Misuzu into the rain after she exclaims that Tomo may get a boyfriend, before departing with her at Misuzu’s suggestion. Tomo bolts away after Kubota comes close to prevent her getting wet, and he does the same after catching up to her and accidentally seeing her soaked clothes.
Tomo attends the boys’ karate club, much to the admiration of captain Kosuke Misaki. She asks him what womanly features he thinks she can work on, causing a flustered Kosuke to exclaim that she is charming the way she is, delighting Tomo. Later on, two girls, Mifune and Ogawa, try to approach Kosuke after school, but they see him with Tomo. They later summon Tomo at her classroom, but she mistakes this for a challenge to fight. Mifune and Ogawa then learn of Tomo’s incredible strength, and become terrified to meet her. Meanwhile, Misuzu explains to Tomo that there are ways to comfront people other than fists, and says the girls only want to talk to her. They meet behind the gym, where the pair tell Tomo that they like Kosuke. An excited Tomo then promises to help them, feeling girly for being able to give love advice to other girls.
